Practical front loading – Combi Universal Thermobox

The Combi Universal Thermobox is thermohauser's classic front-loading design for use in the bakery and patisserie sectors. Benefits include the exceptional properties of a standard EPP insulated box with the additional option of front-loading, which is an underestimated advantage when it comes to loading filled baking trays and sheets.

The Combi Universal box is sized in accordance with the accepted standard for conventional baking trays in the baking industry, namely 60 cm long by 40 cm wide. Two different designs are available, one with inner partitions to accommodate three or five inserts, the other a design with one or nine inserts. The side panels are also available separately if required. These different sub-partitioning options offer maximum flexibility when it comes to loading the Combi Universal insulated boxes – perfectly customised to meet your particular needs. For example, if you are supplying pastries to a retail outlet, you can stack up to nine trays with a gap of approx. 4 cm between each one. If you are delivering snacks or baked items to a party, where the items are laid out on trays in a visually attractive manner ready for consumption, you can select a wider spacing arrangement as required. A horizontal option is also available – this is particularly suitable if you use narrower food trays in addition to classic baking trays.

Once you have finished loading the insulated box, the door is easy to insert and slides into position in a single step. The advantage is that this is possible at any time, even if several insulated boxes are stacked on top of each other – not an unusual scenario if space is at a premium in the kitchen or at an event location.

The material used to manufacture the Combi Universal insulated box is expanded polypropylene (EPP), a foamed plastic with excellent insulating properties. By using this box for transportation, hot items stay hot and cold items stay cold. EPP is also characterised by being very lightweight but extremely hard-wearing and resistant to breaking. This benefit should not be underestimated because trays loaded with all sorts of culinary treats are already very heavy by themselves. After use, the transportation box is quick and easy to clean under hot, running water with some detergent.

A fully loaded Combi Universal insulated box will be very heavy – it is not ideal for your back to carry this over longer distances from a vehicle into a store or to the kitchen or event location. That's why there is a matching aluminium dolly to go with this box – specifically developed with appropriate side rails to ensure the box is held perfectly in place.
The side panels and door are also available as spare parts. It's not unusual for these components to be broken or get lost in everyday operations, so it is important to be able to purchase replacements. Finally, the thermohauser range includes a matching insert frame for the Combi Universal box plus a cooling plate, which will help you regulate temperature levels in the box according to your requirements.
